Iron Methionine
FeMet® is an organic source of iron that is chemically bonded to methionine.
Iron functions primarily as a component of heme found in hemoglobin.
The requirement for iron is generally met by normal feeding. However certain conditions can arise that result in deficiencies.
Iron supplementation is then required to offset the deficiencies.
Methionine is an essential amino acid which the body cannot manufacture in enough quantity to meet daily requirements; therefore it must be provided through the diet.
It is the most limiting amino acid in many species, and must be supplemented.
